William S. Burroughs: The Cat Inside

(ph: doodoop)

May 4, 1985. I am packing for a short trip to New York to discuss the cat book with Brion. In the front room where the kittens are kept, Calico Jane is nursing one black kitten. I pick up my Tourister. It seems heavy. I look inside and there are her other four kittens.
"Take care of my babies. Take them with you wherever you go."

The Getaway (1972)

A recently released ex-con and his loyal wife go on the run after a heist goes awry.

Classic Peckinpah action suspenser with a very bleak view on this world, a perfect vehicle for its star.

L'enfant lion (1993)

aka

Sirga (undefined) / Argentina
Sirga - Die Löwin Germany
The Lion Child International (festival title) (English title)

Two African children, brother and sister, are enslaved and sold to a desert prince who holds them captive in his walled palace. The boy uses his special rapport with the animal kingdom to engineer their escape.

Schmaltzy, but wonderfully produced and photographed tale with some amazing child - wild animal scenes.

The Man in the Iron Mask (1998)

The cruel King Louis XIV of France has a secret twin brother who he keeps imprisoned.

Star-spangled and with high production value, this is mildly entertaining, but redundant in some parts.

Ghost in the Machine (1993)

A serial killer dies in a car accident, but manages to continue his killing spree as a virtual killer through the internet.

Yep, it's as silly as that, and it doesn't get any better, either.

Laetitia Casta

Alien³ (1992)

Ripley continues to be stalked by a savage alien, after her escape pod crashes on a prison planet.

With some brilliant opticals, but a silly plot, this is mildly entertaining.
