The Dark Corner (1946)

Secretary tries to help her boss, who is framed for a murder.

Slow-paced Noir story with some great atmospheric photography and overall good performances, but the unwavering female lead outshines the otherwise dark plot.

Halliwell *: "Moody, brutish, well-made thriller with a plot put together from bits and pieces of older, better movies, notably Clifton Webb's reprise of his Laura performance and William Bendix ditto The Glass Key."
