Red Riding Hood (2011)

Set in a medieval village that is haunted by a werewolf, a young girl falls for an orphaned woodcutter, much to her family's displeasure.

Although visually a splendour, the story mingles so many disparate elements as if the makers hadn't understood the original fairy tale and by supposedly enhancing its content they have turned it into a silly teenie goth thriller.

Maltin *1/2: "Tedious, heavy-handed film provides purported answers to questions no one cares to know about the story of Red Riding Hood. It also tries, and fails, to bring TWILIGHT-like sizzle to a love triangle that may or may not involve a werewolf."
