Goya's Ghosts (2006)

Painter Francisco Goya faces a scandal involving his muse, who is labeled a heretic by a monk.

Well cast and meticulously produced this movie depicts a harrowing story somewhat loses its political dimension in favor of the personal dramas.

Maltin**1/2: "The kind of oddbal movie only Forman can make...plot-heavy result is fairly zippy and not without entertainment value, but the tone is shaky and the wildly multinational casting distracts. Which isn't to say that Quaid as Spain's King Carlos IV isn't without its amusements."
