Killing Them Softly (2012)

An enforcer is hired to restore order after three dumb guys rob a Mob protected card game causing the local criminal economy to collapse.

Effectively directed bleak crime drama more focused on charcter than on thrills with a great cast and some social sommentary pretensions.

Maltin**1/2: "More a chracter study and mood piece han a conventional gangster yarn, and pretty interesting on that level, but Dominik's adaptation of George V. Higgins' crime novel Cogan's Trade is a bit heavy-handed as it lays on parallels to the 2008 presidential election."
