Determined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom and, granted one wish, she must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.
The modern animation notwithstanding this is good, old-fashioned family entertainment.
Maltin**1/2: "Typically handsome Pixar animated feature has robust characters but a formulaic feel - until the story takes a very strange turn. A final burst of emotion almost redeems it."
