William S. Burroughs: The Cat Inside

And Calico Jane is well cast as Jane Bowles...so delicate, refined and special. (In a beach restaurant in Tangier an ugly, dirty little urchin nudged her and held out his grubby little hand. "Oh no!" she said. "I only like old men.") The little cat has real class, and so like her to be a calico somehow.
I was present when Jane was born. She was the first to lap milk and the first to eat solid food. She was the last to purr. (Wimpy was the first.) She seemed almost catatonic, and developed slowly. Now she purrs and snuggles against me in a delicate way...a ladylike way. Janie does things in a ladylike way.

First Lines: J. D. Salinger - The Catcher in the Rye

(art: Alexander Wells)

If you really want to hear about it, the first thing you’ll probably want to know is where I was born, and what my lousy childhood was like, and how my parents were occupied and all before they had me, and all that David Copperfield kind of crap, but I don’t feel like going into it, if you want to know the truth.

New Stuff: The Plastic People of the Universe

I used to have the original record of this legendary album, so I'm happy I finally got it on cd now.

New Stuff: Bob Dylan

This is the limited edition cd I got for free with my last Bob Dylan order.
