Charley Varrick (1973)

Charley Varrick and his friends rob a small town bank expecting a small sum to divide amongst themselves, but the loot is a fortune.

Classic tough Don Siegel thriller with a superb Walter Matthau.

Carriers (2009)

Four friends fleeing a viral pandemic soon learn they are more dangerous than any virus.

Competently told doomsday story focussing on the social consequences of the pandemic.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

After three years of fighting in the Clone Wars, Anakin Skywalker concludes his journey towards the Dark Side of the Force, putting his friendship with Obi Wan Kenobi and his marriage at risk.

The birth of Darth Vader concludes the trilogy as a bombastic interstellar opera.

On second viewing I still think that Anakin Skywalker's metamorphosis to Adrth Vader a bit unconvincing.

First Lines: Stanley Milgram - Obedience to Authority: An Experimental View

Obedience is as basic an lement in the structure of social life as one can point to.

New Stuff: Europa '51

A Roberto Rossellini movie I haven't seen yet.

The Eiger Sanction (1975)

A classical art professor and collector, who doubles as a professional assassin, is coerced out of retirement to avenge the murder of an old friend.

Fairly entertaining, but quite dated thriller ridicously set in the Swiss Alps.

New Stuff: Great Expectations

Finally got one of my favourite movies on dvd.

The Lazarus Project (2008)

A former criminal is drawn into a criminal endeavor and subsequently finds himself living an inexplicable new life working at a psychiatric facility.

Unspectacular, but atmospheric thriller, which presents quite a disappointing twist ending.

New Stuff: Tristan Perich

It took me quite a while to get a copy, but now it arrived, an artwork in itself.
