Rhapsody in Blue (1945)

George Gershwin is a driven composer whose need to succeed destroys his relationship with singer Julie Adams and socialite Christine Gilbert.

Wonderfully directed and played bio-pic with lots of music, of course.

Crossing Over (2009)

A multi-character canvas about immigrants of different nationalities struggling to achieve legal status in Los Angeles.

Not too complex multi-layered movie which creates a depressing portrait of America and its immigration policies.

New Stuff: Thomas Larcher

I'm currently venturing into New Music a bit...

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953)

Two singers, best friends Lorelei Lee and Dorothy Shaw travel to Paris pursued by a private detective hired by Lorelei's fiancé's disapproving father to keep an eye on her, a rich, enamoured old man and many other doting admirers.

Silly, but highly entertaining comedy.

New Stuff: The Goth Bible

And yet another book on the Goth subculture.

On ne meurt que 2 fois (1985)

The inspector Staniland as always try to put himself in the place of the victim, this time an unsuccessful pianist.

Raunchy, but captivating psychological crime mystery.

Firewall (2006)

A security specialist is forced into robbing the bank that he's protecting, as a bid to pay off his family's ransom.

Fairly suspenseful thriller slightly above standard.
