Abschied von gestern (1966)

The story of Anita G., a young East German migrant to West Germany and her struggle to adjust to her new life.

A classic of New German cinema which coolly and at times whimsically depicts the tragic fate of its protagonist using diverse methods of alienation.

Halliwell*: "Witty and remarkably light-hearted satirical comedy which can be fully understood only by those living in Germany in the sixties."

The Next Three Days (2010)

A married couple's life is turned upside down when the wife is accused of a murder.

A thriller based on the plan and execution of an escape and strangely has little interest in the initial crime and its implications for those involved.

Maltin**1/2: "Generally well-acted thriller occasionally strains credibility and fails to fully exploit some intriguing plot elements. But writer-director Haggis often generates suspense and offers an exciting high-speed getaway in his Americanized remake of the 2008 French thriller POUR ELLE."
