New Stuff: Swans

A 3 cd set reissue with additional prveiously unreleased material.

Hawking (2004) (TV)

The life and work of the theoretical physicist Professor Stephen Hawking who, despite being diagnosed with motor neurone disease at the age of 21, has galvanized the scientific world with his ground-breaking work on the nature of the universe.

A TV docu-drama well produced in good taste depicting Hawking's early years; Benedikt Cumberbatch is excellent in the title role.

New Stuff: Fargo

A birthday gift from my pal Ralf. Actually, he got me a Blu-ray/internet TV device, with which I can play it.

New Stuff: The Residents

A continuation of the (now hard to get) book Meet the Residents; now I have both.

New Stuff: The Twilight Sad

The Twilight Sad- one of my favourite bands.

New Stuff: Kurt Vile

I've been wanting to check out Kurt Vile, and supposedly this is his best album.

New Stuff: Super Session

I used to have this classic album as a record, finally getting to hear it again.

Skyline (2010)

Strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth.

Badly scripted sci-fi alien invasion movie with some great special effects (and monsters), but also with an odd, disconcerting ending.

Maltin BOMB: "Lame sci-fi thriller polfers from INDEPENDENCE DAY, TRANSFORMERS, and several other superior films, but the end result resembles nothing so much as a direct-to-video potboiler. Even the special effects aren't all that special."
