Chasing Trane: The John Coltrane Documentary (2016)
An exploration of the global power and impact of the music of John Coltrane where the passions, experiences and forces that shaped his life and revolutionary sounds are revealed.
Excellent documentary manages to give a good impression of Coltrane's music and his significance within jazz history, although the choice of interview partners (e.g. Bill Clinton, John Densmore, Carlos Sanatana, et. al.) , even though they do have interesting things to say, is a bit dubious.
Becoming (2020)
Join former first lady Michelle Obama in an intimate documentary looking at her life, hopes and connection with others during her 2019 book tour for 'Becoming.'
Although this documentary is a fan-made, uncritical affair, it's simply Mrs. Obama's charming and disarming personality and her encouraging message that makes it a joy to watch.
