A famous motor-racing champion returns to his hometown to compete in a local race.
Some good racing scenes and Cagney's charisma hardly save this otherwise a bit unexciting story.

Thanks for the link. This is definitely pretty weak for early Hawks, among his worst few films. There's some good racing footage and a few good dramatic moments here and there -- mostly the camaraderie between Ann Dvorak and Joan Blondell as the girlfriends -- but on the whole it's a rushed, silly mess.
