Fletcher Christian successfully leads a revolt against the ruthless Captain Bligh on the HMS Bounty.
Classic, and arguably the best movie depiction of the legendary mutiny with some grand performances emphasizing the personal and ethical implications of the conflict.
Halliwell ***: "A still-entertaining adventure film which seemed at the time like the pinnacle of Hollywood's achievement but can now be seen to be slacly told, with wholesale pre-release editing very evident. Individual scenes and perforamnces are however refreshingly well-handled."
Maltin ****: "Storytelling at it's best...engrossing adaptation...Whole cast is good, but Laughton is unforgettable...; leagues ahead of its 1962 remake and the 1984 film THE BOUNTY."

Don Camillo monsignore ma non troppo (1961)
Don Camillo is now a bishop, Peppone is now a senator, but their rivalry is as fierce as when they were just a village priest, and a village administrator.
Entertaining, but now even more episodic continuation of the popular series.

Bewildered, Don Camillo learns that Peppone intends to stand for parliament.
Still entertaining as before, although the plot is broken down into episodes.
Halliwell *: "Pleasant third collection of encounters with familiar characters."

Le Retour de Don Camillo (1953)
After his battles with the communist mayor Peppone, Don Camillo is sent in exile by his bishop in a remote village.
Direct sequel on the same entertaining level as the original movie.
