Annie Ernaux is a French writer and professor of literature. Her literary work, mostly autobiographical, maintains close links with sociology. On 6 October 2022, it was announced that she was to be awarded the 2022 Nobel Prize in Literature "for the courage and clinical acuity with which she uncovers the roots, estrangements and collective restraints of personal memory".

Although this is a short advertisement made for the French office for tourism Agnes Varda gives it nonetheless a very persona, often whimsy and entertaining touch.
