New Stuff: Karen Carpenter

After having read the biography I decided to get her (only) solo album, the production of which takes up a large chapter in the book.

Karen Carpenter

The Carpenters have bee a guilty pleasure of mine ever since my childhood, I kind of fell in love with Karen's voice, although the music itself was really quite schmaltzy. However, their songs have accompanied till this day, and it helped that Karen Carpenter found some respectability among the indie scene, especially with the help of Sonic Youth. Her tragedy is quite haunting, so I'll be reading up this biography very soon.
