Forty Guns (1957)

An authoritarian rancher rules an Arizona county with her private posse of hired guns.

An over-the top and unconventional Western, typical of its director, full of audacious artistic ideas and memorable scenes, splendid use of cinemascope photography - and a lot of blatant sexual innuendo.

Halliwell*: "Heavily melodramtic and slow-moving Western with a few effective moments."

Maltin**1/2: "Florid, wildly dramatic Sam Fuller Western..."

Shock Corridor (1963)

Bent on winning a Pulitzer Prize, a journalist commits himself to a mental institution to solve a strange and unclear murder.

A masterpiece of exploitation cinema. With over-the-top performances, splendid expressionistic photography and a relentlessly no-holds-barred tragic story Fuller manages to create an atmosphere of madness and claustrophobia.
