The Tournament (2009)
Every seven years in an unsuspecting town, The Tournament takes place, a battle royale between 30 of the world's deadliest assassins.
A far-fetched story idea is used as excuse to produce as much mayhem possible, and hardly anything else.
Bright Star (2009)
The three-year romance between 19th century poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne.
Well-produced and all in good taste, but the romance misses any spark in order to create empathy.
Maltin **1/2: "Handsome production has lots of tears and reciting of verse, but somehow falls short."

New Stuff: Mannequin's legs
Ursula saw these in front of a boutique with a sign on it : for free. So we decided to take them and I went off and fetched them.
Daybreakers (2009)
In the year 2019, a plague has transformed almost every human into vampires and faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival.
Silly sci-fi vampire thriller with a star cast fully at loss in midst a contrived plot.
Maltin ** 1/2: "Provocative, well-made horror film is unrelentingly gory - and appropriately so - but also terminally predictable."
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012)
A younger and more reluctant Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, sets out on an "unexpected journey" to the Lonely Mountain with a spirited group of Dwarves to reclaim their stolen mountain home from a dragon named Smaug.
Although produced very much as counterpart to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, this time the story is drawn out with more detail and is told with a lot more humor, great entertainment.
