Der Fall Serrano West Germany
The Twisted Detective USA (video title)

Competent political French thriller with some very good performances.

Die große Stille (2005)
aka
Into Great Silence International (English title)
An examination of life inside the Grande Chartreuse, the head monastery of the reclusive Carthusian Order in France.
Less a study of monastery life, but more the attempt to empathize what it's like, which makes this film an unusual experience, if you're able to accept its premise.
