First Lines: Carson McCullers - Reflections in a Golden Eye
An army post in peacetime is a dull place.
Peyton Place (1957)
The film is an exposé of the lives and loves of the residents of a small New England town, where scandal, homicide, suicide, incest and moral hypocrisy hide behind a tranquil façade.
Highly accomplished and influential moral drama with a mulit-layered plot, although the happy ending appears a bit construed.
Astérix aux jeux olympiques (2008)
Asterix and Obelix have to win the Olympic Games in order to help their friend Alafolix marry Princess Irin, otherwise promised to Caesar's son Brutus.
Silly, and only occasionally entertaining adaptation without any of the original comics' flair.
