Without a Clue (1988)
A drunken Sherlock Holmes is really just a cover for the real detective - Dr Watson.
Amusingly twisted take on Sherlock Holmes has good production value and is mildly entertaining, but at times a bit too silly as well.
Halliwell (no star): "The mystery is that anyone should have released this witless spoof."
Maltin**1/2: "Mild farce...Scattered laughs, engaging performance by star duo."

The Paradine Case (1947)
A happily married London barrister falls in love with the accused poisoner he is defending.
Superb courtroom drama with an excellent cast; Hitchcock manages to set the characters' moral ambiguities as the plot's pacemaker.

I'm trying to watch all movies from the German book Reclam's Filmführer, a book from my teens when I started to get seriously interested with cinema. It is mainly a list of the most important movies every made. And I hadn't seen The Big Knife yet...
