A spaceship is discovered under three hundred years' worth of coral growth at the bottom of the ocean and a select team of scientists is sent down to investigate.
Despite all the credentials and an obviously sufficient budget the result is a messy sci-fi thriller with a vague metaphysical message.
Halliwell (no star): "Like most American science-fiction movies of the 90s, this is merely an excuse for characters to explore their own inner space in an attempt to come to terms with themselves."
Maltin *1/2: "Failed sci-fi...Intriguing set-up leads nowhere, with increasingly stupid behavior from the principals and ridiculous chapter headings that lend supposed import to each new sequence."
