Assassins (1995)

A veteran, burned-out hit man for hire who's looking to leave his profession, meets a younger, crazier, more ambitious competitor.

Straightforward action adventure nonsense, mildly entertaining, but Antonio Banderas annoyingly overdoes his role as madman killer.

Halliwell (no star): "Even by the standards of some other of Stallone's movies, this is relentlessly silly stuff about extremely nasty characters; you may keep watching just to discover what illogicality happens next, in which case the ending will not disappoint you."

Maltin **: "Stallone is in good form, but this big-scale action yarn/star vehicle suffers from rampant stupidity."
