The Public Eye (1992)

A 1940s photographer is specialized in crime and this time gets himself involved in a gang war conspiracy.

A fictionalized story furnished around the work and life of legendary photographer WeeGee and skillfully staged and played as a 40s gangster movie, bot not really as exciting as one would expect.

Halliwell (no star): "A modern attempt at film noir set in the 1940s that works only intermittently."

Maltin**1/2: "Intriguing mood piece with a perfect Pesci role...Great atmosphere and style are undone by an ungainly script and an unconvincing romantic subplot."
