Closer (2004)

The relationships of two couples become complicated and deceitful when the man from one couple meets the woman of the other.

This ring-a-ring-a-roses of sexual relationships among hardly likable people quickly becomes unnerving - and ridiculous.

Maltin**1/2: "Extremely well acted and intimately staged for the camera (though it's still obvious this derived from a stage work); the question is whether we care enough about the characters to endure their endless and brutal playing of mind games. Super-charged performances, especially by Owen and Portman, help a lot. More sexually explicit dialogue than any mainstream Hollywood movie we can remember!"
