Confidence (2003)

A consummate grifter is about to pull his biggest con yet, one set to avenge his friend's murder, but is indebted to a mob boss and his enforcer.

Well-made movie with a heavily construed heist with predictable twists.

Halliwell*: "Slick thriller with a twisting narrative of double-cross and betrayal that is less interesting than it should be; Hoffman's eccentricities as a gangster add a little spark to the proceedings."

Maltin**: "Strong cast in a disappointing yarn that's never as suspenseful, surprising, or satisfying as it ought to be. What's more, Burns' character is utterly unlikable, Foley uses every visual trick he can to maintain interest."
