The Unknown Instructors are an all-star improvisational rock outfit consisting of members from the Minutemen, fIREHOSE and Saccharine Trust which released three albums in 2005, 2006 and 2009. They describe their music as punk-jazz-rock-experimental, and you can also detect a Dadaist streak reminiscent of Captain Beefheart. So it's not a suprise that Pere Ubu's David Thomas participated on their second album, The Master's Voice, and that's how I came across them.
