At the Alte Nationalgalerie in Berlin we visited the exhibition of Rembrandt Bugatti's animal sculptures. The artist actually created these works at his frequent visits to the zoos in Paris and Antwerpen.
The sculptures are lovingly molded interpretations of the animals' typical posture, at times even humorous. However, the works are placed within the galleries of the museum's (huge) collection of paintings which made it difficult to viewing without this context.
